The Ministry of the Interior and Social Affairs manages the political party subsidy scheme of the central government and determines the annual local political party subsidy rate managed by the local authorities.
Political party grants provided by central government
Parties and candidates outside the parties who have stood in the latest general election and received at least 1,000 votes are entitled to receive funding for their political work in Denmark.
Grants for 2009
The grant per vote in the payment of party grants for 2010 based on general election participation is: DKK 27.50 (increase from DKK 26.50 in 2009).
The grant has an effect on the support given for the calendar year 2009 and is adjusted annually, cf. section 4a of the Danish Act on Political Party Subsidies.
Political party grants provided by local government
Lists of candidates who have stood in the latest regional council election and received at least 500 votes or in a local council election and received at least 100 votes (500 votes in Copenhagen) are also entitled to receive funding for political work performed in the region and local authority area, respectively.
Grants for 2009
The grant per vote in the payment of party grants for 2010 based on local council election participation is: DKK 6.25 (increase from DKK 6.00 in 2009).
The grant per vote in the payment of party grants for 2010 based on regional council election participation is: DKK 4.00 (increase from DKK 3.75 in 2009).
The grant has an effect on the support given for the calendar year 2010.
